This post shows you the best expert ideas on bra storage to make your closet more organized.
2023 was my gym girl era, the year that I grew to appreciate working out. But if I am 100% transparent, another major reason that got me into fitness was athletic wear. I never knew I could get so excited picking out a gym OOTD! That’s why I need the best bra storage ideas!
I discovered so many brands – a whole new world aside from Lululemon and other daily bras! One thing led to another; I ended up having some bra wardrobe issues.
It used to be so simple before I ran out of space! Oh, if only I could still fit all my bras into one designated drawer.
If you are facing a similar situation, check out some of my favorite space-saving solutions that you can incorporate into your wardrobe organization.
The bra storage solutions for a well-organized closet
1. Drawer Dividers for Bra Storage Ideas
I don’t always get the idea of drawer dividers. But as my bra collection got slightly out of hand, and the storage space stayed the same, I realized dividing does come in handy for staying organized.
The benefits of using drawer dividers are mainly for effective compartmentalization. Using drawer dividers will help visualize your bra collection by shape, color, or occasion.
Before sliding bras in for separation, a simple secret is to remember to fold them for proper bra storage. Folding bras in halves will help save space, adding visual clearance so you can instantly pick out your next go-to bra.
2. Bra Boxes and Containers
People often forget you can easily add boxes and containers inside drawers for better organization. You just have to be aware of the drawer measurement to select the right size and type of containers.
Bra boxes can also be useful to organize bras by size if your bra size fluctuates or varies by brands.
3. Bra Hangers
If you store bras in a vertical closet, the upper space can often be overseen. Different bra hangers available in the market are important for optimal space utilization.
I always like to utilize the entire space in the closet, a good choice will be to organize bra hangers. Specifically, you can store rarely used bras at the top of the space, and arrange the bras in order of least used to most frequently used.
4. Shelf Organizers for Bra Storage Ideas
A shelf is another common spot for storing bras. And there are many options to organize shelf space for neat display.
Add drawer organizers and shelf dividers to the shelf! It is my favorite way (also unapologetically the best way) for storage, especially sports bras.
The main reason is with its open shelving. Your lingerie collection can be arranged aesthetically for visual appeal.
5. Color-coding Your Bras
I love the concept of color-coding, adding visual appeal to my not-so-spacious closet.
Maintaining a color-coded system is not as hard as it seems. A two-step approach is: first divide the color into bulk categories: red, white, black, blue… Then systematically put in your bra after each wash.
Trust me, it will be much easier to pick out the 70% black bra out of a tidy system, aka a sea of well-organized black bras.
6. Sort by Sports Types
Sports bras can be divided by the types of sports, each offering different levels of support: low, medium, and high impact.
Sort out your bra collections by the type of exercise you do. For instance, high impact sports bras are good for aerobics lovers, if you are a yogi, low-medium impact will be sufficient.
7. Hanging Hooks for Bra Storage Ideas
I use hanging hooks to store light daily wear bras. Usually, I like to rotate between 3-4 pieces on a weekly basis. Washing after a one-time use is too much a luxury for me.
By placing hanging hooks strategically you will be able to have mixmized hanging space. The best part is, it adds some characters to your plain closet wall.
8. Lingerie Bags
Back in the old days, I had a lingerie drawer, and that was it. I’ve only adopted lingerie bags earlier last year after purchasing some expensive pieces of delicate bras. It has been life-changing.
I believe in taking good care of those intimate garments that stay the closest to me. For regular bras and sports bras, using your normal washing bag is sufficient, but I prefer to hand wash delicate items and delicate fabrics in cold water. Remember to hang dry for utmost protection.
For expensive lingerie, try staying away from the washing machine and most definitely from machine drying. It will shorten the life of your bras extensively.
9. DIY Bra Storage Ideas
One day, I will have my walk-in closet. But before that, I like creating fun DIY solutions for storage under limited space & budget.
For example, do you have a belt organizer, sock dispenser, or shoe organizer you have not used in ages? You can repurpose those everyday items for unique storage solutions.
Bras are such a staple piece in many busy women’s closets. Hopefully, my bra storage tips will provide easy access to an organized space and good housekeeping.
